PROGRAMS Vehicle Evacuation |

We offer several versions of this program that are tailored to
specific vehicles:
In this class students are first introduced to some of the
safety equipment needed on the vehicle to facilitate an evacuation.
Then they go through an in-depth study of
the procedures to safely evacuate ambulatory and non-ambulatory
passengers from the vehicle with the vehicle in various positions - A video showing these procedures is used to strengthen their understanding of the procedures. If conditions permit the students are then taken to a vehicle for "hands on" practice of the procedures and to familiarize them with the emergency exits and how they work. If it is not possible to use a vehicle then as much "hands on" practice as possible is conducted in the classroom. We recommend that this class be used as Phase One in the vehicle evacuation training. See Emergency Evacuation for a description of Phase Two.
