Welcome to the TAI Instructor section

Our instructors hold many certifications and are highly qualified individuals who have been selected foremost for their love of teaching.   Our students do not want to 'waste' their learning time, our teachers do not want to 'waste' their teaching time and our clients do not want to 'waste' their training time - with this in mind our teachers have been trained to present the material in a format designed so that the students "get it".

Ed Rohrbach is the president of the company and one of the instructors.  After college and a tour in the Air Force, Ed was involved in the health equipment industry in Alabama then moved on to Texas.  While in Texas he was introduced to Defensive Driving and found that he loved it.  He completed the required Texas Board of Education training and taught for several established training companies in the Dallas, Ft. Worth Area.  Later Ed relocated to Arkansas where he contracted with Mid-South Safety Council and began teaching throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, and other states.  This allowed him to hone his teaching skills to adult, court, and corporate audiences.  Ed returned to Alabama in 1997 to be close to his family and Karen, his friend since 1st grade; who two years later became his wife.  Ed is responsible for the marketing and program development for TAI.

Richard Grubbs is TAI's Training Director.  Richard and Linda have been married for almost 40 years and Richard still refers to her as, "My Bride."  Richard worked a total of 35 years in law enforcement - beginning with the Mountain Brook Police Department before his hitch with the US Army and continuing with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department after his honorable discharge.  He has been affiliated with numerous safety organizations, most prominently being a Level 1 & Level 2 Presenter for Operation Lifesaver, Inc. before coming to work for Training Associates, Inc.

Ed and Richard both continue to teach classes whenever they can because they say that is one of their favorite things to do.  If you've ever attended a class taught by either of them then you understand.  Ed and Richard also conduct all of TAI's "Train the Trainer" classes.

Nancy Hudson is a past president of the Alabama Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and has over 25 years experience in traffic engineering with the City of Birmingham Traffic Engineering Department, the Alabama Highway Department, and as a Traffic Analyst with Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.  Nancy is currently with Alabama Operation Lifesaver and teaches for TAI in her spare time.  In her capacity with AOL Nancy has trained thousands of people and hundreds of trainers.  Nancy is one of those wonderful people that you have to say are "born teachers."

Morgan Earley was a junior-high school teacher before becoming an RN at Children's Hospital.  Morgan holds a college degree in education.  He brings a combination of his love for young people and his love for teaching.

Jacque Russell worked and taught in Flint Hill and Garywood Christian Schools before coming to work for TAI.  Jacque brings her office skills to the TAI company office and her teaching skills to her classes.  Jacque assists with the formatting of the workbooks and slide presentations. Jacque is a loving, caring "people" person and it shows.

Bob Adkins worked with the Birmingham Jefferson County Authority for  27 years before retiring and coming to work with TAI.  Bob started his career with the BJCA as a Bus Operator & Route Trainer then moved on to Road Supervisor/Dispatcher later becoming a Defensive Driving Instructor for them.  He investigated & reported accidents, trained the new operators, administered & monitored the Drug & Alcohol Program, helped with procurements.  He was an Assistant in the Safety & Training Department, inspecting the operational & safety of new vehicles and developing & implementing new training programs before being promoted to Safety & Security Manager.  Bob is a gifted individual who knows how to train on the student's level - he "trains" not "lectures."

Karen Rohrbach is the TAI office manager and is one of the instructors.  Before retiring Karen was an Assistant Vice President at The Statesman Group.  She spent 25 years working in the MIS department where she was a computer programmer, supervised and trained computer operators and trained employees on the computer systems.  Karen assists Ed with program development and is also responsible for formatting the workbooks and designing the PowerPoint Slide Presentations.
