This interactive course brings participants to the OSHA definition of “Competent Person”. It covers such topics as typing soil and determining if shoring is needed or sloping will accomplish the safe trenching. Videos reinforce the subject covered by an instructor, in a workbook with testing. An easy transition goes to the information about confined spaces, what confined spaces are and the dangers inside. One part of the class deals with the fact that more than half the fatalities in confined spaces are those attempting a rescue. Tests are used to determine that the material is understood.
